SOFTBALL: New Albany loses at home to Seymour 6-5

NEW ALBANY – New Albany’s record dropped back to the .500 mark Tuesday at Prosser Field in a 6-5 loss to visiting Seymour.
Bulldog sophomore Terah Crosier went 2-for-4 with an RBI, as both of her hits were doubles. Fellow sophomore Riley Case also was 2-for-4 and scored twice.
New Albany right-hander Bri Schoenfeld gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits in getting the loss.
Lo Schmidt led the Owls’ offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Seymour starter Rachel Kaufman earned the win in the circle. She threw a complete game, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits. Kaufman struck out four and walked two. She also helped herself at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
New Albany (6-6) will travel to archrival Jeffersonville (5-8) at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
