BASEBALL: Bulldogs dispatch Tri-County in five 13-3

CHARLESTOWN – Thanks to a solid pitching performance from Owen Tanksley, New Albany ousted Tri-County (Mich.) 13-3 in five innings Friday at Charlestown High School.
Tanksley earned his first victory of the season. In four innings of work, he allowed three runs (none earned) on one hit. Tanksley recorded seven strikeouts and issued four walks.
The Bulldogs’ Ryan Robison, Dylan Clark and Steven Thom each went 2-for-3 with a double. Thom had three RBIs, while Robison drove in two runs. Teammates Chase Rudy and Jacob Mullins had two RBIs apiece.
New Albany (3-3) plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning, with two of them being knocked in on Thom’s two-bagger. The Bulldogs tacked on five more runs in the second to extend their lead to eight.
