SOFTBALL: Bulldogs, Schoenfeld shut out Henryville 5-0

HENRYVILLE – Sophomore Bri Schoenfeld pitched a two-hit shutout last Friday to lead visiting New Albany to a 5-0 victory at Class 2A No. 3 Henryville.
The Bulldog right-hander struck out four and walked one to improve her record to 3-5.
New Albany freshman Madison Lawson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Bulldog senior Marissa Jones was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Teammate Erikah Crosier had a double and two RBIs. The Bulldogs (7-6) took advantage of seven Hornet errors.
Henryville pitcher Peyton Ottersbach suffered the loss. She gave up five runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out five and issuing no walks.
The Hornets (12-3) will travel to Providence at 5 p.m. Thursday.
