JEFFERSONVILLE – New Albany junior standout Romeo Langford
has been named to two MaxPreps All-American teams.
The 6-foot-5 swingman has earned a spot on the 2016-17
MaxPreps Boys’ Basketball Junior All-American second team. On top of that, he
has been named a fourth-team selection to the 2016-17 MaxPreps Boys’ Basketball
All-American squad.
This is not the only two All-America teams Langford has made
in 2017. Earlier this year, he was named a Naismith All-American.
Last season, Langford averaged 28.7 points, 8.9 rebounds,
3.4 assists and 2.1 blocked shots per contest. He became New Albany’s all-time
leading scorer in 2016-17.
Langford led the 25-4 Bulldogs to a fourth consecutive
outright Hoosier Hills Conference championship and a fourth straight Class 4A
Seymour Sectional title.
Langford made the All-HHC first team, the Indiana Basketball
Coaches Association Underclass Supreme 15 All-State squad and The Associated
Press All-State first team. He received the most votes for the AP All-State
teams for the second consecutive season. Langford also has been selected to the
Indiana Junior All-Star team.
