NEW ALBANY – New Albany
defeated visiting Borden in a make-up game May 22 at Mt. Tabor Field 9-2. It
was the regular-season finale for the Bulldogs (16-9).
New Albany senior Logan
Charbonneau earned the victory on the mound. In three innings, the right-hander
allowed no runs on one hit and no walks. Charbonneau had three strikeouts as he
improved his record to 5-1.
Sophomore Dylan Clark led the
Bulldog sticks, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Three New Albany
batters each went 2-for-4 in senior Jacob Mullins, junior Chase Rudy and
sophomore Christian Sifers. Mullins had two RBIs and a double, while Sifers
smacked two doubles.
Leading the Braves (14-6) at
the plate were Travis Konerman going 2-for-3 and Cory Anderson going 2-for-4.
Borden pitcher Brandon Thompson got the loss, yielding seven runs (four earned)
on nine hits in four innings.
