SOFTBALL: Bulldogs break four-game skid with 6-4 win over Corydon

NEW ALBANY – New Albany snapped a four-game losing streak last Thursday at Prosser Field by defeating visiting Corydon Central 6-4. It was the Bulldogs’ Senior Night.
Terah Crosier led the Bulldog bats, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. New Albany pitcher Bri Schoenfeld helped her cause at the plate with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Schoenfeld collected her fifth win of the season with a complete-game performance. The right-hander surrendered four runs (two earned) on seven hits. Schoenfeld struck out three and walked one.
Sophomore Cami Schmitt was the Panthers’ only multihit player, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Corydon starter Kaleigh Oskin got the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) on nine hits.
The Panthers (18-7) will face Charlestown in the opening round of the Class 3A Scottsburg Sectional at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
