EVANSVILLE – New Albany went 1-1 in a split doubleheader
Saturday in Evansville. The Bulldogs defeated Evansville Harrison in the first
game 4-3, but lost the second contest at Evansville North in six innings 10-0.
New Albany (9-11) will travel to Jennings County at 6 p.m.
Monday for the first round in the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament.

The Bulldogs took the lead for good in the top of the sixth
inning when Terah Crosier smacked an RBI single. Crosier wound up 2-for-3 with
two RBIs and a run scored. Teammate Mariah Grant was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
New Albany starter Bri Schoenfeld got the win in the circle.
The right-hander pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run on seven
hits. Schoenfeld struck out one Warrior and issued no walks.
Despite making six errors, the Bulldogs snapped a three-game
losing streak.
EVANSVILLE NORTH 10,
NEW ALBANY 0, 6 INNINGS
The Bulldogs struggled to get anything going against Husky
starter Erika Will. The North sophomore tossed a three-hit shutout, striking
out four and walking two.
New Albany’s three hits were each singles by Grant, Madison
Lawson and Erikah Crosier.
Bulldog sophomore Morgan Jenks was the losing pitcher in a
starting role. She yielded six runs (all earned) on seven hits and two walks.
The setback in the nightcap continued a rough stretch for
the New Albany offense. In the last five games, the Bulldogs have scored a
total of five runs. New Albany has been shut out three times during that
stretch.
The four runs New Albany plated versus Harrison was the most
they have scored since an 11-5 home victory over Providence on April 25.
