SOFTBALL: Red Devils lose to Mercy in six 14-4

LOUISVILLE – Jeffersonville suffered its second straight loss last Tuesday in a 14-4 setback in six innings at Louisville Mercy.

Sophomore Lizzy Coons was the Red Devils’ lone multihit player, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored.

Despite the loss, five Jeff players each collected a double. They were Coons, Casey Schweitzer, Meghan Lay, Lindsey Nelson and Nan Garcia. The Red Devils committed eight errors.

Jeff (7-10) will host Columbus East in the first round of the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament at 6 p.m. Monday.
