JEFFERSONVILLE – Senior Jennah Tincher pitched a two-hitter in leading host
Jeffersonville to a first-round victory in the Hoosier Hills Conference
Tournament on Monday versus Columbus East 3-1.
The Red Devils (8-10) will travel to Jennings County (13-4)
for the tournament semifinals Wednesday. The Panthers defeated New Albany in another
first-round game Monday 7-1.
Tincher issued two walks and the one run she allowed was
unearned. She battled her way to the win despite the Jeff defense committing
four errors behind her.
The Red Devils’ Kaylee Strong and Nan Garcia each went
2-for-3. Teammate Lindsey Nelson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the
third inning to put Jeff up 2-0. Nelson ended up with two runs scored and two
RBIs.
The Olympians will visit New Albany (9-12) on Wednesday for
a consolation semifinal.
