NEW ALBANY – New Albany extended its winning streak to four
games Friday at Mt. Tabor Field with a 10-3 victory over Evansville Mater Dei.
The Bulldogs’ Dylan Clark had a productive game at the
plate. He went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Teammate Ryan Robison
drove in three runs and New Albany’s Cody Medley had two RBIs.
Bulldog starter Logan Charbonneau earned the win, upping his
record to 3-1. He pitched four innings, surrendering three runs (all earned) on
eight hits. Charbonneau walked four and struck out two.
New Albany reliever Chase Rudy tossed three scoreless
innings to get the save. He gave up only one hit, issued no walks and struck
out seven.
Trailing 1-0, the Bulldogs (8-6) plated seven runs in the
bottom of the second inning to take a six-run lead. During the frame, Robison
and Rudy hit back-to-back home runs. Robison smacked a three-run shot, followed
by a solo homer from Rudy.
Josh Heuck, Kurtis Wilderman and Jack Mann each collected
two hits for the Wildcats (7-8). Teammate Austin Wulff was the losing pitcher.
New Albany will travel to North Harrison at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
