SOFTBALL: Red Devils beat C’town on Senior Night 8-6

JEFFERSONVILLE – Jeffersonville rallied from a 4-2 deficit to defeat Greater Clark rival Charlestown on Senior Night on Monday 8-6.
After falling behind by two runs through three innings, the Red Devils (10-12) scored three runs each in the fifth and sixth to take an 8-4 lead. The Pirates (6-11) scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.
Jeff senior Juliette Schuur and Red Devil junior Lindsey Nelson each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. One of Schuur’s hits was a double.
Jeff sophomore pitcher Lizzy Coons got the win in the circle. She pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing two runs (none earned) on one hit. Coons struck out two and walked one.
Charlestown senior pitcher Kendall Cline was 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Fellow Pirate senior Taylor Glover went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Cline was the losing pitcher. She yielded eight runs (one earned) on seven hits in six innings. Cline had three strikeouts and one walk.
