Jeff rebounds from NA loss with 83-63 win over Manual

JEFFERSONVILLE – Jeffersonville bounced back in a major way Saturday
evening after suffering its fifth consecutive loss in its rivalry with New
Albany the night before.
Junior guard Bailey Falkenstein scored a career-high 36
points to lead the Red Devils past Louisville Manual 83-63 in the inaugural
Southern Indiana High School Basketball Classic at Johnson Arena. Falkenstein
knocked down four 3-pointers.
Three other Jeff players had double-digit efforts. Senior
Mike Minton and freshman Tre Coleman each registered 11 points and junior
Gerrin Moore chipped in 10.
After going up 35-28 at halftime, the Devils (8-4) turned
the game into a blowout in the third quarter. Jeff outscored the Crimsons 27-15
in the stanza to up its lead to 62-43.
Will Britt led Manual (4-10) with 20 points. Former Jeff
head coach Jimmy Just is the Crimsons’ boss.
The Red Devils (2-1 Hoosier Hills Conference) will host HHC
rival Floyd Central (6-3, 0-1 HHC) at approximately 7:30 p.m. this coming
Friday. The Highlanders upset 4A No. 6 Castle on Saturday in Floyds Knobs
63-61.
