EVANSVILLE – Class 4A No. 1 New Albany took care of business on the road
Friday night with a 93-41 victory at Evansville North.
The Bulldogs (14-2) lengthened their winning streak to 11
games. Also, it was the sixth time in the last eight contests that New Albany
has prevailed by at least 25 points.
Junior swingman Romeo Langford was the Bulldogs’ top scorer
with a game-high 38 points. The All-State player was 10-of-19 from the field,
2-of-6 from 3-point range and 16-of-19 from the free-throw line. Langford
completed a double-double with 18 rebounds. He also made three steals, two
assists and two blocked shots.
New Albany guard Sean East chipped in 20 points, five
assists and three steals. East shot 8-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-7 from
behind the 3-point arc.
Bulldog senior guard Isaac Hibbard had a solid floor game
with nine points, nine assists, eight rebounds and six steals. New Albany shot
32-of-65 from the field (49.2 percent) and 20-of-24 from the stripe (83.3
percent). Defensively, the Bulldogs limited the Huskies (3-13) to 15-of-47
shooting from the field (31.9 percent).
Cameron Seaton paced Evansville North with 10 points. New
Albany will visit Jasper (10-4) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
