BEDFORD – Jeffersonville’s offense remained out of gear Friday night
at BNL Fieldhouse, as its losing streak grew to four games in a 55-47 loss to
Hoosier Hills Conference rival Bedford North Lawrence.
The Red Devils (8-8, 2-4 HHC) have scored 50 points or less
in the last four contests. The last time they have scored more than 60 points
was in an 83-63 home victory over Louisville Manual on Jan. 7.
The Stars (8-10, 4-1) held Jeff to 20-of-49 field-goal
shooting (40.8 percent) and 6-of-23 3-point shooting (26.1 percent). In addition,
Bedford had a huge advantage at the free-throw line. Despite firing a porous
percentage (16-of-33 for 48.5 percent), the Stars made 15 more foul shots than
the Red Devils. Jeff only went to the line three times and made one of them.
The Red Devils had three players score 14 points apiece in junior
Bailey Falkenstein, freshman Jacob Jones and sophomore Joe LaGrange. Jeff
junior Gerrin Moore grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Three Bedford players each recorded 13 points in Brayton
Bailey, McCall Ray and Isaiah Stockman. Teammate Gaven Moore had nine points
and a game-high 13 boards. Bailey, the son of Bedford and Indiana University
great Damon Bailey, snagged 11 rebounds.
Jeff will host Indianapolis Tech (4-8) at about 7:30 p.m.
Saturday.
