GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL: Providence goes 3-0 in Pioneer Kickoff Classic

CLARKSVILLE – Providence started the 2025 season with three victories in the Pioneer Kickoff Classic on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Providence High School. The Pioneers won each of their three matches in straight sets, defeating Avon (25-18, 27-25, 25-22), Lawrence North (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) and Tri-West (25-21, 29-27, 25-19).

Outside hitter Hadley Hasselbring led the Providence offensive attack with 36 kills on the day. The sophomore spiked 16 kills in the Avon win. She had 12 kills against Tri-West and eight in the victory over Lawrence North.

Pioneer setter Rylie Neal distributed 79 assists for the tournament. The freshman dished out 29 assists versus Tri-West, 26 against Lawrence North and 24 versus Avon.

Providence’s next match will be at Louisville Holy Cross at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
